Orchid leaves
I never gave art much of a chance, always thinking I never had the real talent. Only recently I fell in love with drawing. I am a psychologist, unemployed for now and spent my time enjoying drawing learning and expressing myself…

Easy Tiger
My name is Thomas Thorn and I love to draw. I have a BA Hons in Art History and have worked for several Museums and an arts-focussed mental health charity.
I am a vegetarian and love animals, including tigers.
I want to win the competition so I can improve my drawing skills by learning lots of tips and tricks. I think the Drawing Academy sounds very official and would love to be endorsed by them…

When No One Believes in You….Believe in Yourself
Hi! I’m Sherifat. I’m 15 years old. I enjoy reading various genres of books, learning new languages (currently Korean), being a Track sprinter (We’re going to championships!), cooking, and writing short stories.
I’ve drawn since I was a child (like almost every artist ever). I used to fill up notebooks with drawings during reading time in elementary schools. The other students loved to watch over my shoulders…

Combo sketch
I’m a shy girl who loves to get lost in sketching and art always played a big role in my life as it filled a hole in my life as well as save me from somethings that would have destroyed me.
The challenges I have in art are the images I want to draw don’t come out the way I want them to. What I want to learn is how to draw from imagination better and know how to better put everything together…

Art is Worth the Long Walk
My name is Nicholas Beck, I’m 19 years old, and I’m studying studio art at a liberal arts college. My involvement with art seems to have gone on in waves, first taking a bold hold of my time before gradually dropping away, and then suddenly launching back into my life; it’s something I don’t always notice is missing until I start doing it again. From an early age, art has always coincided with some writing, and I find that much of what I do on my own time (outside the classroom) was always been connected to something written…

Wanting to Improve my Drawing Skills

If selected for membership, I hope to take full advantage of what the academy has to offer…

I am a u.k. cased artist originally from the North, I am a musician sculptor writer and poet too, I love to draw and the Academy has been a source on art.
I am self taught so I revel in minor discoveries I make during my expressions of feelings and dilemmas, for example, here is an improvisation in breeze block, a progress which makes each moment a joy and a struggle, i am close to mastering technique and feel I am able to apply my imagination to my work soon…

Hi, my name’s Sophie and I’m 15 years old.
I’ve never had art lessons and am completely self taught. Art takes up quite a big part of my life. I currently do GCSE art in school and get a tonne of coursework so I don’t have much time to draw freely. Although when I do have time to draw I like to enter competitions, doodle in my sketchbook and stalk artists on instagram:).
One of the biggest challenges I face in art is originality. I constantly have to be looking up references online to get a drawing done and I have never made an original piece (all of my work has used photo references). I would love to try surrealism but as of now I know that would never work as I’d be looking for references for days before I find something suitable…

I am Marianna Vad from Hungary. I am 32 years old and I have always interested in art.
I love to write poems both in English and in Hungarian and I love to draw. However, I should learn a lot to do it professionally, which is my dream. Besides writing and drawing, I like manipulating pictures on my computer because with this tool I can create a lot of interesting things. But, not long ago, I realized that I could only deliver my thoughts and feelings in the best way if I knew each and every technique in connection with drawing…
