I love painting portraits and hence I joined the Old Masters Academy fine art a course couple of years ago. I learnt the painting techniques, the old masters' way of multi-layer painting, and made few portraits in the traditional way.
There was something I felt missing every time I finished a painting. I finally realized that I need to work on my drawing skills to make portrait paintings better.
My name is Dahlia. For me, art is a way of observing the world and offering a different perspective; working across multiple disciplines and learning from different resources expands that.
While I was studying for my BFA years ago, I wanted to strengthen my artistic foundation, so I decided to learn from Drawing Academy.
Graduating from Drawing Academy has been a very meaningful experience for me. This program helped me grow not only as an artist, but also as a more confident and disciplined creative.

I joined the Drawing Academy course to learn the fundamentals of academic drawing, so I could start from a solid foundation and truly understand it. Thanks to this academy, I learned important principles that I was not familiar with before, such as shading, perspective, and how to draw portraits correctly. This course was very beneficial in developing and refining my talent. The Drawing Academy is what taught me real drawing skills. Before enrolling, I was fairly good at copying photos but knew little about the fundamentals of drawing or which drawing advice to even trust. The course is very thorough, covering everything from how to hold and sharpen a pencil to perspective, human anatomy and more. Every lesson is based on constructive drawing principles, which are necessary for developing drawing skills and rarely taught elsewhere.
As someone who has always been passionate about art, I enrolled in the Drawing Academy to systematically improve my skills from foundational sketches to color mastery. My goal is to create visual narratives that capture life's beauty and eventually inspire my children to embrace art.
