I took a painting workshop at SAS (Scottsdale Artist’s School) back in May. It was four days of a ton of information, but not a ton of actual painting. I was able to get a decent underpainting of the model, I think, but as I got further along into color I lost the drawing, and in the end the painting was a failure. Those failures are important I learned. I should have kept it, at least to try to understand what happened!

I’m so happy to have the Drawing Academy membership along with Life Drawing Academy and Anatomy Master Class to learn from. They are amazing resources and definitely helped prepare me for the workshop in Scottsdale and any open studio that I attend here in Tucson.
