The motivation of Art
Story from Marina Georgiadou, Drawing Academy student
Two years ago, when I retired from teaching, I enrolled in a Secondary Education school for a course in ‘Restoration of Antiques and Works of Art’. Part of the course included Drawing from Life. The 2nd year included the subject of copying a work of Art; all my training has been more theoretical than practical. But still it opened a whole new field of interest and ignited an appetite to learn more.
I lack basic skills, that is why I enrolled in the Drawing Academy course. In this course, there is so much information for a beginner like me to absorb. I watch Drawing Academy video lessons again and again to take in all that this course teaches. I still need a great deal of practice.
I am left with ardent admiration at the ease with which the Academy teachers sketch, apply tonal values, draw simple lines. I am extremely grateful for all you have taught me and continue to teach me.
Thank you!
