I applied what I’ve learned in lesson Four of the Drawing Academy course
I drew this from life. This drawing opened up a whole new level of understanding of contours, rendering, measuring techniques, perspective (particularly ellipses) for me. Whether it’s a simple sketch, indicating where the light is coming from and contours with simple hatching or revealing the full tonal values or rendering details, all seem to be fun and interesting! I’ve lost the edge of the vase in the background and made it much lighter and less contrasting than it actually is and avoided some details to effectively depict aerial perspective.
