The sprout from the seed inside

Before taking the Drawing Academy course I had a notion about some art techniques: faces proportions, shading, hatching, etc. But I was not able to use them well or to understand the proper order of applying them.

This course helped me to perfect my skills and to draw things faster. I found really useful the proportions of faces, and the order to go from the big parts to the smaller details. The different perspectives, the skills of using a pencil – all helped me a lot.

Since my childhood I was hoping to become a professional artist. I was thinking that the art is the best way to express what is inside my heart. Every feelings which can’t tell by words. I was learning a realistic drawing without rules and I worked hard to learn oil painting.

But what I wanted is to be able to draw from my imagination, and I was asking myself where should I start to learn portrait drawing. Luckily, I saw a video on youtube from Drawing Academy, so I decided to enrolled this course. This course is great, it gives all you need to know about drawing and its tutorials are well organized.

Since my childhood I was so fascinated with colors and colored pencils. My drawings at school was a bit outstanding from other students. Magazines and illustrations was the point of my interest. I drew film stars and Princess with graphite pencils when I was a teenager, I even drew my mom and sisters and it was almost correct.

I went to painting classes, there I learnt more about different painting materials.

One day, I came across Drawing Academy and realised that it was the course for me.

Best sketching practices

I was recommended this course by my friend Pragya Bhatnagar. Once I started watching Drawing Academy video lessons, it became apparent how useful the lessons were and how effortless the drawing becomes if you follow them honestly with passion.

Sketching faces has been my passion for a long time, and I could copy faces well. But there was no finesse in that. It was disorganised and I only strove for resemblance which did not come for me. But since I saw the drawing academy videos I understood what my drawing lacked. There was too much emphasis on resemblance without having the basic underlying structure.
