I have been drawing every day for more than 6 months, and it fills me with so much happiness that it can drive me out of bed at 5 a.m.
Before I joined the Drawing Academy, I was mainly drawing from drawing books and from YouTube tutorials. Practicing with the Drawing Academy on a daily basis has given me thorough basic skills and knowledge, and I look forward to starting all over again with some of the drawing lessons and compare new drawings with my first attempts in order to evaluate my skills. Before the Drawing Academy course, I was drawing and painting what I SEE. The reason why I took this drawing course is because I wanted to learn how to draw what I KNOW.
For example, buildings in this pre-course painting (Santorini Greece) have different angles and look unbalanced. So, I decided to learn fundamental principles of drawing to improve my skills.
Now I understand well 1-point, 2-point and 3-point perspective. I can better judge angles and distances, which is important.
I also learnt more about human anatomy and what lies beneath the skin. This knowledge helps me to draw with the knowledge and confidence.
