Rembrandt, in God’s name how?

My name is Peter and I live in Belgium. I have started painting again after that my brushes were locked away in a box for over 20 years. To paint again has opened a forgotten place deep inside myself, the question who am I, is now my daily activity and need. I started painting self portraits and copying the old Flemish masters.

Princess Peach!

I live on a beautiful, mountainous, tropical island which gives me an abundance of visual (and every other kind of) inspiration 24/7! Having mostly been involved with writing and music-making over the years, I always really longed to do art, but put it on hold until I “had more time.” Then I suddenly realized that if I waited much longer, I might run out of time altogether! So I started up about 2 years ago, beginning to learn value, tone, perspective, etc… in graphite drawing. I started to gain some confidence in it and allowed myself to try prisma colour pencil and loved that too. I’ve also worked in water colour and acrylics…

Carlos Muslera, paintings and drawing you should see!

Visual artist born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I trained in painting, drawing and engraving with Martha Gavensky, Alejandro Boim, in MEEBA, Fundación Pérez Celis, with Martín Riwnyj and other artists.

I thoroughly studied Art History with José Emilio Burucúa.

Art is the main thing for me, I am into it most of the time, and think about it when I am not.

Every day is a challenge for me, as I feel I could always enhance my skills.

Time is Running Out!!

At the age of 63, I picked up a pencil and began to draw. Oh my goodness, it was pathetic. But I was not discouraged and tried again. And again. And soon I was seeing things in my drawings that I thought were pretty good and believed that if I just kept working at it, the layers of the onion would peel away and what would emerge would be: An Artist!

Dreams, Hope and Future

My name is Vasty Figueroa Fabregas, I began to draw a long time ago, I love the freedom that drawing provides. Art is essential in my life, I need it that’s why I set the goal to draw every single day, even if I am tired because of regular work or school.

The major challenges I face in art, I think are economic, lack of resources, also, I need more knowledge about what materials to buy depending on what I want to do…

Polishing the Rubicon or Upgrading the Matrix

I’m a half centurion working daily to improve my mind, my art and my physique. I believe it’s never to late to improve. It’s never to late to start. If I can change my physical appearance (at an advanced age) by targeting certain muscle groups with weighted time under tension then it’s never to late to learn what has been lacking from my education as an artist.

Time with instruction based on classicism. The desire to absorb it all and disseminate it in my own unique way. Can’t help but change the resulting product of my work. There is no magic pencil or pill. There is only a desire to learn and work for what changes we want to see happen. I’m ready to work and I know sharpening this drawing tool is essential to my art. Just as essential as weights are to body building…

Never stop learning

I have worked as a graphic designer for over 30 years. The past 2 years have shown a great decline in freelance work. I still need to support my family, so with the help of the Drawing Academy, I would like to get good enough to sell my fine art paintings in a gallery and online.

I am especially impressed with their anatomy lessons.

I’m compelled to make art. An artist is the only thing that has ever occurred to me to be professionally. It’s who I am and what I do.

Sometimes my imagination exceeds my skills in a certain area and I find myself at a new beginning eager to communicate what I see in my minds eye any amount more clearly on paper and canvas.

I hope to learn more of the secrets and intricacies of the human form. Incorporating realistic figures into my work has always been a goal of mine. It is an intimidating undertaking but one I’m committed to…
