Drawing Academy review by Safaa Ramez Serieddine

My princess

Before starting this wonderful course with the Drawing Academy, I was just a beginner and having lots of lessons and instructions from my art teacher, Ronnie Rayner Larter, who won the Drawing Academy Art Competition two years ago.

Ronnie advised me to enter the same competition. I was determined to win because knowing how to draw well is an ambition, an ambition to have the skills to draw anything, which will help me to enrol on a Fashion Degree course I am now applying for…

Artworks by Angelina, Drawing Academy student

Hello, this is Angelina.

Can you help me with my drawings? I’ve made two drawings from life, including a statue from the art museum. I am having difficulties with grouping the shadows and shading the fabric. Any advice would be helpful.

Thank you

Is it passable to use photos for reference

Is it passable to use photos for reference?

Question from Rayne Sheffer

“How do you learn to stop looking to or copying photos for reference, especially when you are trying to draw something that you cannot see in real life that much, like a wild animal? Do you still use photos and just not copy them, but use them to gain a general idea of the subject?”

I am an artist between worlds. Art is what transports me through my experience here in this life, I would like to USE art as a teacher, i wish only to perfect technique as much as possible then go further.

I feel the Drawing Academy is the right step for me to advance as i love the classics and the advice within the tutorial I’ve seen is perfect for me. I would like to win the course as i have the perfect time for it right now and would embrace it fully and IT alone.

What is life drawing and how to prepare for it?

What is life drawing and how to prepare for it?

Question from Priscilla

I’m going to begin by saying that Drawing Academy is awesome, and I’m really interested in taking the courses. Thank you so much for what you are doing. You guys are some of the best artists I have ever seen :) I’m so happy that I came across this website.

I was reading what Vladimir London said about how to get the most out of a life-drawing classes
https://drawingacademy.com/how-to-get-the-most-out-of-a-life-drawing-class

  1. Since Drawing Academy advocates drawing from life, is drawing from videos that feature live models recorded in real time helpful?
  2. How many years should a complete beginner in drawing like me take before doing that?

My challenge in art is perspective. I want to learn in art everything.

I think Drawing Academy is the best website to learn drawing in easy and fast way.

I didn’t ever anticipate the pleasure drawing would bring!

I started drawing in January 2017 at the age of 49 years old. I did art at school until I was 13 and was reintroduced to it during a watercolour mindfulness class.

The therapeutic effects of the session were enough to spark my interest in painting and from there I moved to colour pencils and pastel pencils. I work in a school and am surrounded by incredibly gifted pupils and teachers who inspire me every day.

I thoroughly enjoy drawing and the pleasure it gives me and the people I give the pictures to is enormous! Drawing for others is a wonderful way to bring happiness and I currently do my drawings for friends and charity. I draw at every possible moment of my leisure time and have even persuaded my young children that this is a great way to spend our down time.
