Like most people I have drawn and painted from an early age but was taught nothing at school, in those days Art wasn’t seen as important. Since leaving school life seems to get in the way. I’ve worked and brought up a family but always squeezed in a little drawing where I could. It keeps me sane and happy.
I’am a nurse, practicing art in my profession and in return that passion is seen in the art I place on paper or other crafts.
Hey, My name is Emma Sofie. I am living in Norway together with my parents and 3 siblings. I have always liked drawing and colouring. I started for real to colouring in secondary school, and started mostly draw my own picture when I started at High School. I am soon starting my second year at highschool. I am in an education program for Art, design and architecture, and I want to work as an architect in the end. Therefore is art a big part of my everyday. I draw everyday and post my art on my instagram profile A_drawer_in_purple a few times a week. Lately, I’ve used a lot of hatching with dots in my pictures.

I feel that taking the Drawing Academy course I can excellerate my learning so it’s not piece meal and I’m trying to tie it all together in a disjointed fashion for with the course there will be no guesswork in putting it all together.

For more than 20 years my name appeared over articles in newspapers in New Jersey and New York City, Now my name is on my watercolors, an effort I returned to after writing. Actually I began drawing and painting as a grammar-school kid, and continued as a cartoonist in high school and college papers. I began as a cartoonist at my first daily newspaper and switched to writing-editing when I found there was more money there.
My name is Sharif Makhale and I’m a NYC based artist. I gave up a 25 year career as a martial arts instructor to pursue my dream of being an artist. Prior to that I hadn’t created any art for almost 15 years. After having a personal crisis.
It was art that saved my life and since I’ve been eternally grateful. Since returning to art, people took notice through social media and I’ve been blessed to be a part of some amazing group art shows here in NY and a solo show in Europe in 2014.

I’m an art student who recently picked up drawing, and found I love it immensely. I’ve recently been looking for a way to bring some structure and education into my drawing, especially because I have also been recently entertaining the idea of doing art (semi) professionally, too.
The Drawing Academy site really showed me (the articles about art & art education, especially!) that timeless is always the hot new thing.
For as long as I remember, I loved to draw. In high school, I received an award for my artwork from a great Indian classical dancer and film star, Waheeda Rehman. After high school, I wished to join Sir J. J. School of Arts, Bombay, but could not pursue my love of art as I had to struggle for my livelihood by taking some other job, which continued till my retirement. After my retirement, I attended some private classes and started painting. Since then, I felt my life more meaningful and satisfying. Now I paint for my own pleasure and to satisfy my soul. Beauty appeals to me in everything I see. I fall in love with any beautiful subject/object; for, I feel, a thing of beauty is a joy for ever! And I believe, art flows from the heart.
