This is my moment of bliss…

I can fondly remember when my mom gave me Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain…I had to have been 13 or 14. It was a very big deal for us as my parents were immigrants from Germany and we did not have much money, but anything to do with art always came first. It started my dream of creating a masterpiece and one day going to art school.

I wish I still had that book, I’m sure the pages would have been very well worn as I devoured everything I could from it. I can remember my mom critiquing my work and showing me how to change just a simple angle to make something more realistic. My mom is now close to 80 and she paints in watercolours almost ever day…beautiful landscapes.

Dedicated to the preservation of our beautful fragile earth

I am a self thought artist who is passionate about the beauty of nature and our fragile earth. I major in painting landscapes and abstracts also portraiture, seascape and still life. As a self trained artist, it wasn’t easy at first but determination kept me pushing. I started drawing at a tender age and built skills over time. I would spend more time painting while I was in university instead of studying biochemistry. Encouragement from friends, especially family, kept me on track…

Ramonita Badillo is an aspiring artist who attended the high School of Art & Design in New York City. Earning a degree in General Illustration. Later attending the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Not using art for many years due to life responsibilities she is now retired and living in Florida and continuing her passion for Art.

Memoirs

I am Samruddha Purekar from India.

I have completed my Masters in Visual Arts, Portraiture. Art for me is a way and means of living. I believe that art exists within and around us, it doesn’t have to be superficial.

I feel its best explained through painting than through words and it takes a while to develop a technique unique to its own style but the learning process is never ending as knowledge itself is a vast ocean.

Art is Life

I am a late starter, found my passion for art in my 20’s. Decades later I find myself almost full circle, back to painting and drawing after years of moving image/time based work.

Art has always been a constant companion and force in my life, shaped me into who I am. The challenges I face at present after having had a formal art education, is to allow those critical thinking skills to take a backseat and engage again at a fundamental level with the very basic skills and craft of art making.

From My Mind to the Canvas

I am a self-taught artist and am currently pursuing a painting course from an online art academy. The academy is covering every aspect related to paints and techniques of painting, except drawing. Presently am dependent on reference images for drawing and I wish to change it.
