I started drawing 15 years ago, when I was in the ninth grade, I used to draw anime and my favorite characters, but in university I used to draw portraits using squares only, after that I stopped drawing for a while, and started academic drawing in 2021, and I stayed at the Art Institute for two years, but I only learned to draw still life with pencil and oil colors, and how to draw pictures on canvas, but I never learned portraiture in an academic way, and now I am very interested in drawing portraits and bodies and I have difficulty drawing them even though my level in oil painting is advanced.

My name is Souad. I studied library science at university, passionate about art since I was young and did not discover my talent for drawing until I was 26 years old, I love drawing when I draw, I forget the world, it makes me feel happy and with it I forget my worries and the challenges I faced, I wanted to enter the School of Fine Arts, they told me that my age does not allow, it must not exceed 23 years to enter and the state in which I live there are no drawing workshops and I did not have money at the time, after that I entered the House of Culture but to no avail, I did not notice any development in my level.

My name is Suann Li. I have been to many countries, am fascinated by their architectures. I really really enjoy art, especially oil parings. When visiting India, I was so surprised that their architectures are so special, so fine, so different from western styles, so many Precious Stones, so complicated that you hard to find similar ones other where in the world. I have such a strong desire to draw them down.

My Story:

Art has become more than a passion for me—it’s a way of understanding the world and expressing the emotions that words can’t capture. My journey began after being inspired by a powerful painting I saw at my university, when learning to become a Special Needs Educator and Therapist in 2021. Since then, drawing has become my way of exploring vulnerability, strength, and connection.

The piece I am entering, Unveiled, represents my evolving perspective as an artist.
