I am a 24 year old artist residing in South Africa with a strong passion for art.

Art has been a lover to me ever since I can remember. I enjoy every kind of art and would like to tap into different forms of art.

Drawing Academy is a good platform for individuals like myself who wish to improve on their talent/skills and I believe this Academy would help me reach my full artistic potential.

My name is Analyn Mauri.

I love drawing and I have been drawing since I was a toddler. I joined art competitions when I was in my primary and secondary level of education. Back in college, I considered enrolling in fine art school but due to several circumstances, I ended up finishing 2 college courses unrelated to arts. All my art works are self-taught, but I do not regret my decisions. It is just that my strong desire to improve and create more realistic paintings has been haunting me in a good way.

I’m 66. I started painting watercolor portraits about 6 months ago. It is a great hobby. It is very challenging for me to attempt to paint a realistic representation of a human being, but it’s also fun. The Drawing Academy lessons may help me to make better portrait drawings and paintings, and that’s the ultimate goal.

My name is Izuchukwu Clifford Agba. I am a Visual Artist. I like drawing and painting. Art is my first love. I think more of art, I work harder to create and try as much as possible to live art.

I’m not an artist, but I want to learn

My name is Dana. I am very creative and active person. I only draw with a positive attitude; after all, what mood I have reflects in my artworks.

In my life, art takes a very special part. However, I can’t draw! Each time I try, I do my best, but drawings are not perfect.

This competition gives me a real chance to win the Drawing Academy course, which I believe will change my life!

I have challenges with drawing in perspective and drawing three-dimensional objects. I do not know how to draw faces, figures and do correct proportions.

In art, I want to learn everything from the smallest details to big topics and be able to do a great art.

Can’t See the Trees for Forest!

A long time ago (30 years or more now) I drew a picture of my five-year-old daughter. I found it the other day and instantly the memories started flooding back. I remembered how she sat there fidgeting, giggling and us both laughing. That poor little drawing brought back all those memories and more.

Now I am retired and my daughter has children of her own. I try to draw every day but find I lack the skills to portray what I see. That saying, “Can’t see the forest for the trees”. I seem to have it backwards. The detail in the “trees” is missing. I would love to learn to portray my grandchildren and capture their real essence and personalities with these missing details.

The community of the Drawing Academy reminds of the Guilds of the Italian Renaissance. Those schools of would be artisans being taught by Great Masters with pupils following in their footsteps and becoming Masters in their own right is a wonderful tradition to aspire to.

My name is Robyn. I am a wife and mother of one precious 6 year old boy. I am also a disabled person.

All my life I have been interested in art. I took art classes when I was young, but I was never any good.

After being very ill for 3 years, I felt the urge to start drawing. In June 2016 I picked up a pencil and I could actually draw! This gives me an outlet that I use to make other people happy. I draw lots of pet portraits and give them to my friends and family.
