Drawings by David Anthony

Still life in perspective
The artwork ‘Traveller’ was drawn in consideration of three-point perspective, composing a suitcase and leaves with my eye level above and in line with the suitcase handle.
As a Drawing Academy student, you can exhibit your artworks in this online gallery.
We want to see your drawings before, during and after the Drawing Academy Course.

Art has given my life new meaning. Since suffering the loss of my husband, I turned to art for comfort and it has since been an anchor for my health and wellbeing. Initially, art has been a challenge; given the numerous forms available and not to mention the patience needed to create something that not only satisfies the eye but also the soul. Art has taught me to be mindful, supportive and resilient – not only to other’s but to myself.

It has been some time since I have started studying the Drawing Academy course.
I draw as a hobby and wanted to learn the fundamentals to improve my drawing skills.
I have learned so much from the Drawing Academy course. Now, I feel more confident and will continue learning and practicing more. I also intend to watch the Drawing Academy video lessons again.

With clear video tutorials in the academic course, I was able to gather many new insights and integrate them into my style.
I like the Drawing Academy course, it offers good quality art education I always wanted to receive.
In this course, I have learned a lot about freehand drawing and techniques used by the Old Masters.
I am very grateful for many new things I have learned. This drawing course was very helpful in improving drawing skills.

I painted this portrait from a live model in 7 sessions of 3 hours each.
