I am a very happy person when I’m focused on drawing, painting or learning how to improve my artwork. I receive great satisfaction sharing my work and teaching what knowledge I’ve gained through books, online tutorials and artist friends. I wasn’t fortunate to have formal training so I’m always searching for instructional videos and books that could help me and open my eyes to another way.

A Tale of Two Towers is a journey between Jumma Masjid Tower and Raiyanaka Parabazar Tower at Rajkot my home towm, my place of birth and where my home and office are stationed respectively. It is as well the journey of a common face in the crowd passing in the shadows of the busy market lanes and travelling between these two destinations to etch a place of my own. A fact that mesmerizes me as a seventh generation in the same place is that this same stretch of the road between the two towers has been a witness to my fathers and forefathers settling down here, traversing the same path, dwelling between these two towers, and growing in their occupation and family.

My parents are very supportive and they pay for my art education. My friends say I’m good at drawing, but I feel my skills lack anatomy and proportions of a human figure, so I mostly draw still life and very few portraits.

I was drawn back into art when I was unable to work with M.E. Art became my only voice when I was unable to do anything else. It became my lifeline.

My name is Meg and I am a 37 year old mother of 5. I have a degree in visual art, with a concentration in photography.
I loved my figure drawing classes in college way back when and developed a love for drawing portraits. I am a stay at home mom and with 5 kids my art was put on the back burner for over 13 years. My children are finally getting independent enough for me to start making art again. I can draw anything from a photograph but I can no longer draw whatever comes to mind without something to look at.
My life has come around full circle from childhood, back to an overwhelming passion for art and the need to create. Grade school art class introduced me to drawing when our assignment was to draw our dream house. From there, I learned from books and used reference photos. I even did some fashion drawings in the 6th grade! In college, I studied interior design where drafting, drawing and rendering were my favorite classes. Later, I studied graphic design and art history. I have changed careers several times, and even though they were in creative fields, my passions were not fulfilled as it is in drawing, painting and sculpture.

I’m still studying currently on the course called “Information Communication Technology”. I started drawing since I was young, but i didn’t really study drawing because of lack of money :(, Its been a hard time for me to draw portraits from pictures, still life, it always make me frustrated, so I just keep on drawing that only comes to my mind, especially this one, it was my original creation, I know its not good enough, but I’m willing to learn more.
