Kos was born in Sri Lanka into an artistic family and began drawing and painting at an early age. After school, his playground was his father’s agency workshop, where he studied and practised brush skills in the golden age of hand-drawn advertising. In 1999, he moved to Hong Kong, where he has worked in a creative capacity in the film, advertising, and digital advertising industries.

Kos paints in loud and dominant styles, cheap brushes used to apply dripping oils in crude fast brush strokes, experimental combinations of acrylics and charcoal, tropical colour pallets carried to the extreme. From the inspiration he draws on to his choice of subject matter and the materials he uses, Kos’ work is a celebration of diversity in every sense…

Hi guys, I’m Alp, student from Türkiye, 21 years old.

As a child, I drew soldiers, castles, knights, catapults and make them fight on the paper :D

Drawing never left me, I made designs, small sketches in the school when bored. And last years I started to take it seriously. I searched a lot of tutorials on the internet but those were like How to draw eyes, buildings, trees … etc.

I wanted to learn fundamental techniques of drawing. I understand that without a good foundation, its is impossible to draw skillfully…

Perhaps it’s not so interesting but I’ll tell you.

I’m 67 years old and when I was a child of 10, my parents discovered I like drawing and sent me to a teacher to learn how to draw and paint.

Then when I entered the secondary school, my activities were many or more than many, and I was obliged to stop learning.

Life went on, after the secondary school, I attended the University. Then I worked at different schools. I got married, had my own family, and never again had the time to go on with my drawing and painting classes.

Now I’m retired from my teaching activities, and motivated by my family I re-started with my drawings…

I am a visual artist living in Canada. I came from a family of artistic desires; two of my brothers are also artists. since I was 12 years old I was inspired by my elder brother watching him creating art works and this influence have ignited my burnt soul to express myself through drawing scribbles. Later on I pursued learning art through my own by reading books whichever I can afford buying them. But I noticed that learning from books is not as effective as a tutor. Therefor, I decided to move my house to another city in order to enroll in a three years art program for adult continuing education in Toronto Ontario, Canada.

I learnt a lot in my school but I still need to work on my drawing skills, such disciplines as human anatomy, proportion, and perspective. Therefor, I need to win this drawing competition by getting support from the viewers and voting for me so that can improve my artistic skills Thank you for supporting me in advance…
