The yatch girl

Artwork by Pabu

Hello,

I am Pabu and I see some drawings looking real as if its breathing and has life. Those kinds of drawings were my inspiration. Starting to learn and every time I draw even a simple one it teaches many things.

One should be able to draw what he thinks and Drawing Academy is one such which guides artists in that direction.

I really like to draw life like drawings and to draw what i think and this course will really help me out a lot…

Art is my passion

Art is my passion

Artwork by Brian Chest

Well of course my name is Brian and art is my passion. Its been a gateway for me to leave all the messy situations I’ve been in and escape away in my own mind. I wasn’t like much by my peers or family and was considered to be an outcast often because of how I acted or the way I dressed and such. I could never figure out the answer to change any of those things. It would often hurt my heart that I had to change who I was for people to accept me (even my family). But when I was around 5 or 6 I discovered a passion for sketching, recreating, and designing different things. By the time I reached middle school I was drawing on t-shirts and sketching fake tattoos on random kids. High school I developed my skill and improved. Current day now that I’m 21 I love drawing. Sometimes id do tattoos or paint but nothing was more better then Wilding a pencil and creating whatever came to mind on that paper…

Dreaming In Art

Dreaming In Art

Artwork by Atiba Kojo

My story is not that much different than many other people in this art competition. I am an older person returning to art after not drawing very much for many years. I did not take an art class when I was in high school, I always sort of knew that I could draw.

When I first went to college, I started out as a journalism major, but did not like the program. After some soul searching, I decided to pursue art as a major. So I applied to my university’s fine arts department, put together a portfolio and got accepted into the program. Eventually receiving my BFA in drawing. Like many university art programs, they were mainly about teaching creativity. They made the work of the ‘old masters’ seem outdated and historical. Students today are very lucky to have the internet as a learning resource. I wish it was around when I was in school …

Window to the world

Window to the world

Artwork by Sophie H

Hi, I’m 14 and only recently got myself a sketchbook and am beginning to fill it. I’ve never had any art lessons/courses outside of school art class so I never really got to learn the basics or any drawing techniques.

My target for art has always been realism. I would love to one day be able to draw realistically. I also want to be able to create art without having to look up references all the time on my laptop…

Points in the art

Points in the art

Artwork by Clifford Honoridez

I’m a newbie artist. I started drawing less than 2 years ago. Now, I’m studying fine arts in college.

Fine artist is the only profession that I can think of. My school isn’t enough to make me a great artist. Watching the videos after my class will help me maximize my time to practice my skills.

Drawing Academy is great online learning center for artist; instructors are hands-on to the students.

I think it will make me one of the best of our class from one of the worst.

Please vote for me because I need to learn more in arts from these great instructors….

Woman with serious green eyes

Woman with serious green eyes

Artwork by Brighita Weinberg

My name is Brighita Weinberg, I am 67 year old. I was a professional woman, now am retired. All my life I liked drawing and was fascinated with the works of art. Especially I enjoyed oil paintings of the old masters, their techniques and the way they connect to the viewer.

Most of my training is self taught, and now I am participating in more formal education .I am also using the internet as a source for my training.
The submitted painting is related the picture of my niece that is a solger in the Israeli army. Her gaze and determination attracted me to paint this picture.

I do believe that more formal training in the Drawing Academy will help me to advance in this field, and fulfill my dream to become an artist…

Artwork by Zawar Ali Zahid

My name is Zawar Ali Zahid. I’m 21, studying textile designing in Iqra University, Islamabad.

I have my main focus mainly on the shades. Its very much fascinating working with shades. Those tones from high to low and there effect of surprising the next person by converting the image to a hyper-realistic form. Shades are something that also merge within your life. I love working on graphite shades.

Most of my work is on human portraits. Imaginative characters and human figure drawings. The way an artist adds that movement that some kind of tick in the drawing that it comes to a real life object’ that point is something that fascinates me. And I dig myself in that thing to complete it and bring out the that unique piece that no one have seen. Proportions are very important and the perspective….
