I love drawing!

My name is Jim.

I’ve been drawing and painting from an early age. I even entered the Famous Artists School, the one on the matchbooks, when I was six years old. I earned my BFA in painting, when I studied life and drawing and painting. I then went to work as a graphic artist. I’m now retired and want to polish the old skills.

I’ve been drawing from a very young age. I made art because it made me and my parents happy and as I grew, I received many compliments and critiques which were really encouraging me to keep on improving. I will be an animator and an illustrator. And my parents supported my decision. I’m taking art seriously and practicing regularly, and learning a lot from other great artists on the internet.

What Happens When You Put Flesh on Bones

Artwork by Mary, Drawing Academy student

Humble, but

Hi, my name is Amy. From an early age I have been drawn to Art. I remember being excited as a young girl going to the Guggenheim Museum in NYC. The images, the colors, the sculptures, and the Jackson Pollock type action paintings especially caught my attention. I took a few courses in all the public schools that I attended. And then a few at college. I have always my own thing since school. My challenges are working full-time in a non creative/art field, and then knowing how to help myself improve. I would love to learn more about Drawing. It is my favorite medium.

The seed concealed inside

Story and drawing from María Rosario Labado

My name is Rosario. I never thought that I would enrol on an art competition before. I have always liked drawing and painting, but I have never considered taking lessons with a professor. But, for the last year, I received drawing classes at school. With the guide of my teacher, I have learnt lots of techniques and helpful tools. I reached a much better level and discovered that I could draw things that without an instructor or by my self would seem impossible. He taught me how to correctly use the pencil, the proportions of the head, taking measures and drawing portraits.
