Art as Life’s “prism”

My earliest memories of drawing and painting were formed before I was seven. Throughout my school years, drawing was integral to my experience; my father purchased my first easel when I was about 12, and in both Junior High and High School, I received honorable mention for various compositions.

Moreover I continue to pursue studio and drawing courses in college and at the Cleveland Museum of Art: graphite, pen and ink, pastel (dry and oil), water color and oil painting (with which I fell love) are the mediums with which I have continued to experiment. This training brought me in touch with the works of artistic masters of the Renaissance period; it was during this time during my formative years, that I was smitten by the exquisite draftsmanship of Leonardo da Vinci, with his incredible attention to detail of the human body and plant life.
