I started painting in oil 6 years ago, but for many years have been interested in fine art. I have visited a lot of art museums (Paris, Boston, Venice, Rome, London, Edinburgh just to name a few) and need to visit them again. I had a great Professor in my undergraduate education in his Humanity course and Literature. He taught me to see works of art in a new way and not just looking at a painting…
Previously, I had submitted a portrait that attempted to deal with full direct lighting. This portrait attempts to project three dimensional volume by utilizing light so that the face is half in shadow. This particular subject and approach is inspired by the paintings of Zhaoming Wu. Hi,
I am Bader Hamud Almohiawy from the city of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.
Earlier this year, I enrolled in the Drawing Academy course and Anatomy Master Class.

The information I found in these courses were very useful for me and helped greatly in improving my figurative drawing skills…

Hello,

I am extremely happy to have found and studied at the Drawing Academy. I am tremendously pleased and delighted with what I have learned. Your feedbacks have been both encouraging and thought provoking, focused on improvement.
I wanted to study a BFA as a mature student. I have 25 years experience as a teacher in the Middle East, I studied the curriculums of most art courses and found that in todays Art colleges there is no place for drawing skills. For me that’s a corner stone to learning art. Once learned one can digress but it’s the backbone of art…
