I enrolled in the Drawing Academy to improve my art skills. Growing up in the Caribbean I did not have the opportunity of getting any art education. However, I always was inclined to draw. This portrait attempts to project three dimensional volume by utilizing light so that the face is half in shadow. This particular subject and approach is inspired by the paintings of Zhaoming Wu.
