I have not yet watched all the Drawing Academy video lessons, that is why I am setting up a new schedule so I can get back on track as I am still eager to progress in my drawing skills. Truth be known I have not been drawing for the last 10 years and this is the reason I signed up for this course. Here are a few samples of my drawings; some of them are studies for paintings.
My story can seem weird or common, “as you like it. It begins with a passion that I could have followed; I liked drawing so much since I was a little shy girl, but as it happens many times, you chose to follow other’s expectations. until one day when I choose to rewrite my path, after a surgery, I decided to recall my passion and give it new form and life. After a secondary an university degrees, after many Masters, I thought that I could restart all again. I took a new degree in art school and began new courses and university for deepening my knowledge and my skills. I can admit so many defects in myself but I can describe myself as headstrong, dreamer and hangry. I’m hungry for knowledge and learning. That’s why I’m trying to do this here.
My name is Catherin, and I attend high school. When I’m stressed, art helps me relax. Making art helps me to unwind. Values and colour theory are difficult for me. And I’m not really sure where to begin with an oil painting. These are among the things I want to learn. In order to create better portraits in my drawings and paintings, I wish to study more about human anatomy. I believe Drawing Academy will aid me in achieving these objectives.

Hello,
I recently enrolled in the Drawing Academy course because I wanted to improve my drawing techniques. I hope with this course I could develop a strong foundation for the fundamental skills needed to create the works of art I want. I hope that I can better express what I see in real life, from photos, and eventually from my imagination with this course.
Here is a portrait that I had done in the past. I think that I would need to express more depth and tone in my drawing.

Hello,
I’m attempting to draw a vase standing on a square plinth. The circular vase is rather easy, but as soon as I get to the square base problems start.
If I draw the square base straight on (so that the front of it is parallel to the horizon) it works fine, but when I draw it slightly rotated everything goes a bit wonky and round part sitting on the square plinth looks at a funny angle relative to the other eclipses in the drawing.
Maybe the problem has something to do with me not knowing how to establish the two vanishing points? But I’m not sure if that’s it.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you
Kira
Story and sketches by Ronald, Drawing Academy student I had no drawing skills prior to taking the Drawing Academy course. At best I used to doodle when bored. The reason I enrolled is because I…
Greeting professor,
I have done thousands of sketches and drawings, but I have always had this question in my mind. What make a good piece of art?
Thank you very much for your time
