Good afternoon Vladimir and Natalie,
I am a new student. I have reviewed all 45 drawing lessons to get an overview of the approach and how it would fit into my schedule. I realise that a serious study the concepts and understanding what it is all about, would serve me well. I am a plodder.
I’m a Watercolor Academy student and I recently created this artwork, which is a poster design made for a motorcycling brand.
My name is Susi Franco. I believe Art is a Survival Tool. It has carried me through several serious crises.
Drawing Academy seems like an excellent platform that provides comprehensive art education and training. I appreciate the fact that it covers a wide range of topics, from basics to advanced techniques, and it seems like a great resource for artists of all levels. Winning the Drawing Academy course would be an incredible opportunity for me to improve my skills and learn from experienced artists. I believe that this course will help me achieve my goals of becoming a successful animator and producing high-quality artwork.
Hello!
I have recently discovered the harm of learning to draw from photos on DA’s homepage. And I read that it could make it impossible for me to learn the proper way, from live models if I ever try that later.
Now – I started drawing a year ago with the intention to become a more skilled artist and have been using photos as reference (and art books).
As a full time working father (I am 38) to a 4-year old I haven’t had the time to attend life drawing classes with real models.
Do you think the year I spent on learning proportions and drawing from photos has been too damaging for me so that I cannot re-learn from live models? perhaps a silly question but I am a bit worried.
I wish you teachers the very best!
Regards
Richard M
My name is Aisha, from London. I am a mother to a beautiful little girl. Art has always had a place in my heart since I was I was a child. Art is my sense of peace and calm. It helps me to relax when the world seems chaotic.
Born in Porteirinha – MG, I lived on music for a long time. As in any city in the interior of Brazil, there was demand from parents to enroll in a college. I had to move to another city since my hometown didn’t have colleges.
I joined the Faculty of Information Systems. While studying Information Systems I started an internship at a software company. There I could understand that the life I was leading was not the one I was looking for in my future.

After high school I took the entrance exam at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. It was in the sixties when Art had to be Conceptual and Abstract. Figurative art was for the dummies of little talent. Clearly belonging to that group I was rejected, started to work in the Advertising industry, worked for big agencies and had my own, married, got kids and never touched a brush or a pencil again.
