American Man

I am 77 year old grandmother of 5, and a great-grandmother of 4. Born in Kentucky. Lived in Kansas, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, California and now in Branson Missouri. I have been an owner in the oil business, Wife and promoter of a Horse trainer, and a commercial actor. Robin A. Wiltshire. A real estate salesman in California, retired and now free to do what I desire, art, that is my desire.

The challenges I have in art are composition, scale, and creating my own style. I want create my own style. That is the main thing I would like to learn.

I have taken the Drawing Academy course a few years ago. This course taught me so much, I can’t begin to tell you all I learned from that course. So I do keep up with all you are offering now.

Gorgeous art

I have been drawn to beautiful art – drawings, paintings, colorful pictures, thoughtful flower arrangements or eye-catching patterns everywhere – since childhood. I knew since then I want to learn to draw and/or paint well.

I try to draw something everyday. Mostly I am interested in drawing portraits, faces and figures, or would simply doodle geometric shapes if time is limited. Over the last 15 years or so I have invested a lot of money in online art programs and books, and I am still learning from these.

Street of Dreams

My name is Jenga, and I paint because I wake up with the urge to create, to record moments in my life journey. My art is my conversation with the world. It tells the story of who I am, and where I am both mentally and emotionally. It is also my way of getting out there and seeing the world. Every piece that finds a new home is some place I’ve never been, but a small part of me now resides there. Art enables me to meet new people with the same interests and share my story, I find that comforting in a way.

Orange Is The New Black

This is my first monochromatic painting, which was inspired by Anders Zorn. He was one of Sweden’s foremost artists (1806-1920). I always admired the magnum opuses of the old masters as well as Zorn. They are a continual source of inspiration.

Drawing Academy Review by Zaraf

Drawing Academy Review by Zaraf

Drawing (and painting) was, like in the case with many folks, my number one priority in childhood and it did not leave me. My art teacher wanted me to attend the academy. However, somehow I ended up with different careers. So when I finally came to my “senses” in the true sense, I found myself to be a rather poorly equipped in my knowledge of art craftsmanship.

I was very glad to have found both the Web Art Academy as well as the Drawing Academy.

How to improve figure and portrait drawing?

How to improve figure and portrait drawing?

Question from David

Hello!

I’m interested in improving my figure and portrait drawing. My long-term goal is to be able to work as a street artist… for this I lack the speed and experience working with live models. Would I be able to learn these skills in the Anatomy Master Class or would it be more beneficial for me to go through the entire Drawing Academy course?

As I already have prior experience with sketching, albeit mostly working from photographs, I’m not sure I need to purchase the entire 3-month drawing course. Is it possible to just purchase month 2 and 3 or is it only available as a 3-month package?

Swimming on the dining table

Art is my passion. I am interested in all aspects of art and drawing is the foundation to most disciplines of art.

My best art teacher was trained in Moscow and I have come to respect the rigour and strong discipline of the Russian art training.

The Drawing Academy appears to be founded in such an institution and this is the reason I want to learn from the Academy. While I have considerable skills in drawing, I feel I need a refresher in training as it has been more than 20 years since I was taught by my Russian art teacher. Even in university, I have not had the basic skills taught in such detail and to be honest, a lot of art students majoring in art lack basic drawing skills.
