I'm Suria Jimenez, a graphic designer from conviction but artist by passion, I think drawing was always part of my life, I do it since I was a child. I'm passionate about the details and over time have been perfecting a technique that allowed me to make increasingly drawing more and more detailed. I am a stay-at-home mother and struggling artist. My love for art and my desire to help my family has given me the desire to start drawing professionally. I am a self-taught artist besides a few classes in high school, but that was almost 20 years ago. I need to “learn” to draw again. I started drawing and painting after I retired from my day job. After spending time and money on three courses at drawing at an university extra-mural program, I felt that I have not benefited as much as I deserved – and I have to make a decision. Either I give up drawing altogether, and look for something else to pass my time, or I should forget about learning from these paid teachers and do it on my own. As a result of deciding on self teaching, I purposely chose to learn human portraiture, simply because that I think that that genre of drawing would be the most challenging.
