To bridge the gaps

My name is Tom Ansell. I am 25 and live in the South-West Region of Australia. Over the past 9 years, I have obtained certificates, a diploma, and two degrees in visual art. Since that time, I have also taken a self-directed approach to learning more about visual language and art whilst completing experiments, commission-based work and taken up grants. The image I have included demonstrates my enjoyment for life and gestural drawing and experimentation as it was completed using a toothbrush and ink.

I enrolled in the courses listed above with the aim of understanding more about the “art” in visual art, and whilst all of these forms of education have helped, I found a lack of focus on the practical skill-building and concrete understanding of the fundamentals. I have since come to a realization that this particular knowledge is offered through the Drawing Academy, and is taught in the spirit and focus to that of the Old Masters and great draftsmen that I have always admired.

Yelena’s Art Dream

I have loved art and art history since I was a little girl. I painted when I was a kid but then had a big break and got back to drawing and painting about five years ago. I will never take a break again. Art inspires me on so many different levels every day. I love reading artist biographies, learning about art in general, as well as getting into the wonderful world of art instruction.

I currently mostly paint with watercolors, and sometimes with oil. Although I consider myself to be a hobbyists, I’m starting to sell some of my watercolors.

My name is Jordan and art has always been my favorite thing. Anything creative is interesting to me such as cooking, origami, drawing, dancing, etc.

I struggle with proportions, tonal values, and drawing from imagination.

I wish to learn more complex and simple things about art to make art enjoyable and appealing to me.

A Wise Investment

I’d like for you to dream for a couple of minutes. Dream that you are investing in something that has epic rewards for you. You finally get the rewards, and they are better than what you imagined! You have plenty for yourself and you are able to bless the lives of those that have a part in your life.

This is how I see the investment of time spent learning and practicing the methods and techniques the Drawing Academy teaches. It isn’t an overnight lottery winning, but it is an eternal one. For I believe we can have an amazing influence on others even through art.

Dreams worth fighting for

My name is Nicole Elliott. I am age 18 and a recent high school graduate with great aspirations! Since I was VERY little I have been obsessed with art. I got my first full time position illustrating a children’s book two years ago, when I was sixteen, and have since worked and AM working for several clients all over the world. I do not say this to boast or because I think I am ‘oh-so-great’! ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! These projects have revealed so much that I need to work on and improve. But I have been so fortunate to be a part of each one and I am ALWAYS striving to grow and learn! Perfection is always just out of reach.

Hello, my name is Lika Kaplanishvili and I’m from Georgia.

I have been drawing and painting for 16 years, and in last 2 years art bacame very important to me.

I want to learn the proper art techniques and I need good teachers for that.

For me, it would be very good to win the Drawing Academy course because it offers so much to learn – like classical drawing methods, which I really would like to master.

Soul in art

I’m an engineer and also an artist. I realized that I have drawing skills at the age of 4 with my mother’s support. Although I am an artist, I couldn’t learn from any master.

Art is my ultimate life journey rather focusing onto irregular life style.

In love with Realism

Hello! My name is Adejean, I’m from Niterói, Rio de Janeiro – Brazil. At the moment I’m BS Pharmacy student but always in love with arts (not only drawing and painting, but also music, cinema and theater).

Art is an essential and very special friend in my life. Since I remember I’m very connected with art since childhood, but just now I decided to take it seriously and start to study everything that I could in classical arts. The old masters works are certainly the main inspiration and objective that I have.

Kinetic Drawing

I am Bradley Burgin, and I am 44 just re-starting my artistic side. Years ago, I studied art and began a career in Graphic Design which sidelined much of any art that I loved doing. Art today is appreciated from afar, but I am slowly getting back into a more creative outlook.

The challenges I face are perspective and realism. I create with a kind of energy, almost kinetic. I hope that the Drawing Academy would help me build upon what I know and what I want to know.
