Drawing by Terry Jackson
My name is Terry Jackson; I am female, despite the spelling of my name. I am originally from Virginia but currently live in Maryland.
In addition to art, I enjoy playing the guitar, watching Orioles baseball, meditation and listening to music. I started drawing seriously when I was 10 years old. My childhood drawings consisted mostly of cartoon characters and houses.
I have always been attracted to architecture and landscapes. I stopped drawing for several years due to work and school obligations.
I started drawing again in 2015, following my grandmother’s cancer diagnosis. I decided to use the time we spent in treatment to relax with art. While I have other hobbies, no other provides me with the relaxation and escape that art does.
When I am drawing, I am in my own world.
I enjoy drawing landscapes and seascapes mostly but have recently started attempting photorealistic drawings.
My biggest challenges are correct depictions of human lips and water.
The Drawing Academy course is a professional, in depth course that I would like to use to help me draw what I see as realistically as my ability will allow.
The Drawing Academy course consists of a diverse set of lessons that can also help me to expand beyond landscapes and seascapes.
People should vote for me because I will take this course seriously and will benefit from its offerings.
My submission is a drawing of guitarist, Stevie Ray Vaughan.
