I Love Drawing Academy!

Feedback and artworks from Sang Jin Choi, Drawing Academy graduate

Before taking the Drawing Academy I was a beginner. Even though I am so interested in art management, I really didn’t know how to draw whatever I see or imagine.

Now I have learned lots of skills through the Drawing Academy, from basic to advanced levels.

My life is getting happy because of drawing art. I am sure “Life is the art of drawing sufficient conclusions from insufficient premises.” Drawing is also the honesty of the art. There is no possibility of cheating in drawing art. This is one of the best benefit what I learned from the Drawing Academy! Definitely I will recommend the Drawing Academy course to other art students! I really appreciate excellent DA teaching staff! …

The best way to learn perspective drawing

The best way to learn perspective drawing

Questions from Daniel, Drawing Academy student

“Just two fast questions: What’s the best way to learn perspective drawing? I’ve just started, so I’ve purchased a few sketchbooks but I’m not sure where to begin. Should I simply draw from real life and apply perspective to, say, buildings and other things?

And also: In your opinion, what’s a good amount of time to invest in daily drawing?” …

The Sacred Heart of Mary

Artwork by Genny Dionne

This picture is in acrylic water color and was my first painting on canvas. I am a self taught artist living in northern Idaho.

I am 16 now but have loved drawing from and early age. I draw in most all of my spare time, I have gotten to the point that when I look at something I mentally visualize how I would draw it or what colors I would use to paint it. My family have always been very supportive of my artwork and tell me that I have talent.

I have just this last year really got into painting and am loving it, but in drawing and painting I often have a hard time getting the images in my head onto paper, and I often have a hard time getting it to look realistic or life like!…

My Very First Figure Drawing

Drawing by Alex Saldivar, Drawing Academy student

Hello, my name is Alex and I love drawing and art in general.

I have always wanted to be a better artist and never knew why I couldn’t draw from imagination. I eventually gave up on art but decided to pick it up again about two years ago because I finally found the secret I never knew about. I found that to be better at art and to draw from imagination I not only had to practice daily, but I had to learn the basics. This included shapes, forms, value, perspective and all the other basics of drawing.

From childhood, I always had the bad habit of drawing from observation incorrectly. That is, I would begin my drawings from the outside in. I never knew that to do a great drawing a foundation such as measurements, proportions and the use of basic shapes to mold my drawings was the actual way to start a drawing…
