Artwork by Triet Le
This is my first acrylic painting, a gift for my Grandma since I cannot be home for the new year celebration. I did this painting in two weeks, after reading many how-to books and youtube tutorials.
Around 2 years ago, after many years of general education and neglecting drawing, I found myself interested in art again. Now, I am 22 and pursuing a career in animation.
The more I draw and the more I make films, the more I realize how my vision and ideas are limited by my inadequate drawing skills.
As my college does not have drawing courses for my major, I resort to learning on my own, using books and youtube tutorials.
But there is only so much that I can improve without a structured curriculum, guidance and feedbacks from a teacher.
Thus, stumbling upon the Drawing Academy was like an eye opener for me. I respect the curriculum and the courses of the Academy as they focus on honing the basics.
I am doing everything I can to improve my drawing every day and it would be wonderful to speed up the process with the courses from the Drawing Academy.
I think every art school should follow the model of Drawing Academy to help students build a solid foundation in seeing and visualisation.
I would love to develop a solid foundation in drawing and visualization because I want to become a better visual storyteller.
I’m disciplined, hard working and committed to mastering drawing.
Thank you for caring.
Triet
