I am my own muse

I am a retired Physics prof. from India who migrated to Canada in 2009. Immigrating to a new country and under duress can be very stressful. Plus the adjustments and starting life from a scratch can take its toll on you. Thank goodness for the love of sketching I had years before Physics took over my life.

Though the best 35 years of my life revolved around Physics, doing masters and PhD in it and later teaching but the artist on me remained latent through out, waiting to be waken up…

Who am I

My name is Veljko and I’m a beginner artist from Serbia.

I express myself in different mediums like painting, drawing, writing etc.

Art to me is what divides us, humans, from the unconscious world. It’s like philosophy or spirituality. Maybe a combination of both expressed through a drawing, painting or sculpture. It’s the idea, the emotion and the subjective view of our world…

To me Art is evidence of the Divine!

I am a 69 year old single mom. I adopted a boy and now I have 2 darling grandsons. I was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah and graduated from Brigham Young University. I was first made aware of my love of art in the first grade. My painting of a duck behind a chicken wire fence got a lot of attention. People told me I was an artist.

During my early years I tried any kind of art instruction or medium I could. My parents tried to support my interest by giving me art supplies or for Christmas. Art supplies were to expensive for me but I tried anything I could (yes I have painted on velvet) I am a shy person and have been my worst critique,but even so managed to win some awards for my art. I was given the opportunity to go to Europe after winning a competition.

Simple life!

I’m a musician from Bogotá, Colombia and have been playing in a couple reggae and rock bands for the last five years in several places like small venues, halls, local radio and even on streets.

I live with my brother who’s a painter and have taught me about visual arts since he started a career as a film producer. For him and for me, now arts happens to be in first place as a lifestyle…

Growing up with art all around me has really helped in discovering myself.

I want to be a full time artist because of the passion I have for art.

Now I see a future

Hi,

Before I enrolled in this course, I designed, but I did not know the anatomy for artists because I had not studied it. I used the grid method.

When searching the Internet for new techniques, I found Drawing Academy and I immediately realized that it would be the best choice for me.

I learned how to draw the right way. After that, I participated in some contemporary exhibitions using what I’ve learned from this course, creating works of art and I had tremendous satisfaction.

Drawing means everything for me. I hope with all my heart to become a full-time artist one day…

Best guidance! Thank you

I always loved drawing but I never had the proper techniques to learn to master it. Every time I draw I know my drawing is filled with mistakes but I don’t know how to fix them. That is when I decided to look for a guidance from scratch. Gladly I came upon Drawing Academy and I immediately signed up.

It was enlightening, it gave everything I need step by step. I learned how to master classical art with the pencil, to measure the light and shadows and how draw from real life.

It was an amazing experience that I’d recommend to anyone who wants to have a thorough understanding of drawing.
