What materials do I need for drawing?

Good Morning,

Your web site is very informative …. well done. I usually paint in oils and would like to progress. I know my drawing skills are not to the level that makes me confident. So I am thinking seriously about joining the course. The oil painting will have to wait until the drawing skills are confidently secured.

Several questions.

Firstly,
Could you provide me with a comprehensive list of materials including, for example, paper types, pencils, etc. that I would require for the Drawing Academy course?

Secondly,
I use a MacBook Pro and an iPad (older but still with adequate space) … is the course material compatible with Mac computers? Also, can I view content on an iPad? Videos I usually watch on the MacBook Pro.

Yes, the Drawing Academy course is fully compatible with your devices.

Regarding art materials, I am sure you are already fully prepared for this course. All you need is a couple of pencils – HB, B or 2B, an eraser or two and any drawing paper you already have (any size – A2, A3). Brands do not matter. All other materials are optional and will not affect your drawing learning process.

I want you to have good drawing skills, such skills that do not rely on drawing materials.

You see, the rules of perspective, principles of constructive drawing, rules of composition, golden ratio, human body proportions and anatomy will be exactly the same whether you draw with a pencil, with a stick on sand or with a finger on a dusty window.

Drawing Academy is not about some drawing tricks that depend on drawing materials or grades of pencils. In this course, you will learn the fundamental and universal principles of drawing that are the cornerstone of all arts, including oil painting.
