Need to learn more than copying

I want to become a professional artist and took lessons from an artist who taught the sight size method which employs placing the item drawn or painted directly next to the paper or canvas. It helped in learning how to draw but I feel that I’m limited in that I can only copy things and have a really hard time drawing from my imagination. The Drawing Academy would help me in becoming a complete artist.

From the course description it seems to be an excellent program.
