Hi, my name is Amanda. I am currently studying Zoology and Ecology at James Cook University in Australia. As a way to help pay for my education I have been selling some of my artwork. Art has always been a hobby for me.

When it came time to choose a major, I considered studio arts. What held me back is that I didn’t want to put stress with art. It was my way to de-stress, so I stuck with science and kept art for a hobby.

Now I would like to improve my art. I have done some portraits for people but have never felt like they were done to the fullest of my abilities. I have been searching the web for videos and articles trying to learn how to improve my technique and skills.

Having to pay for one degree already with having no job makes it difficult to invest much money in my art. Having the chance to win an art course is an amazing opportunity. I hope that everyone enjoys the piece that I have shared and are willing to help me make improvements.
