HOMAGE TO THE LEGEND

My name is Vivek Mandrekar and I am a Sr. Art Director for Movie Posters. I am a self-taught artist, never been to any art school or had any formal training. My father late Shri Arvind Mandrekar who was an illustrator for Amar Chitra Katha inspired me a lot for knowing the basics of art and early exposure to great artist’s.

My close friend’s Dinesh Nair & Balaji Waghmare introduced me to the basics of Adobe Photoshop & Wacom Intuos pen tablet. Gradually I was
inspired by Sheridan J and other great digital artist’s.

Further getting my hands on & learning various techniques in digital medium, my first digital painting of Al Pacino that gained a positive
feedback from many contemporaries, colleagues & well wishers, gave me a jump start to do more digital paintings followed by Leonardo DiCaprio, Tony Montana & more.

While going through my research on realism paintings from around the world for my next digital painting, I learnt that there could be no better tribute to a legendary person Shri Amitabh Bachchan ji. It took 90 days of patience, vision & lot of hard work, but the effort was worth it:)

Still there is a lot & more to learn, and there could be no better opportunity than this.
