Drawing by Johann Krammer, Drawing Academy student
I saw this photo in a fashion magazine and was fascinated by this proud facial expression.
The original is from a great German photographer (Sorry, I could not draw from the original, I had only the photo ;-) ).
However, the graphical challenge was rather the headscarf. Around the nose are small corrections necessary. But I was afraid to destroy the image with a few strokes…
I started drawing again this spring after not drawing at all for about 35 years. I was never taught the classical drawing method and have just subscribed to the Drawing Academy course. I used three silver pitchers to practice perspective and the constructive drawing technique presented in the first few lessons of the course. This drawing is done with charcoal…

First and foremost, I would like to thank you for giving me the opportunity to take part at the competition Spring 2014 and for making me a lifetime member of your school.

In 2010, I took some drawing lessons and started painting portraits.
Now, I would like to share my father’s portrait, which I painted after becoming a member of the Web Art Academy…

Our town is surrounded by fields, and very often you can see abundant homesteads around. It is not exactly how it looks like though, I simplified it :) Malvina James
