This is my first attempt in a field of collages.:) It was a lot of fun to do it! I have 500 rubles (year 1912); I didn’t dare to cut it, but instead copied, enlarged and cut the image of a woman. I think, she represents an allegory of Russia. The phrase means – “The appearances of things are deceptive”…

This drawing is of a windmill a few miles from my home. I completed a few days ago using the hatching technique. To create a sense of restfulness I used horizontal hatching for all buildings, trees and sky, but for the windmill I used cross-hatching, which I felt gave it a sense of solidity.
