I have had no formal art education, but was always attracted towards it since childhood. Finally, I decided to give up my job (been 2 years now) and completely get into arts so that I can practice and study arts (currently studying through books and learning Indian traditional art from a sculptor).
My name is Wassim Touir and I’m 18 years old.
I started drawing since I was 5 years old, and I began to learn by myself through internet videos and free e-books, but I figured out that I wasn’t improving very much so I really wanted to sharpen my drawing skills by learning from the old masters and I found that Drawing Academy is the best place where I can benefit from the knowledge and the support giving by the academy tutors.
I have always dreamt of becoming an artist since I was a child yet never had the chance to realise this dream. I’ve been taught that one can never make a living as an artist and that pretty much affected the choices I’ve made. I did not choose to pursue art in school and when I finally decided that I wanted to in university, it was too late because I didn’t have the pre-requisites.
I am a sessional teacher. However, I don’t teach art but I have come to the realisation that art can play a part in peoples lives that few other subjects can. I would like to teach drawing in particular, as this form totally absorbs the mind and can relax students that are stressed. I find there are few teachers that can actually draw well and if I am going to teach drawing I need to be as good as I can be.
Greg Lumberjack, born in Rose Valley Sask. in 1966. I moved to Regina in the early 70s..and have lived here most of my life. My art interest didn’t come to life until I got a pencil in my hand and made little sketches of animals, cars and other scenes.
I have been drawing off and on for some years. until recently I started getting into painting and different medias. And realize art has endless opportunities, and that is what keeps my drive for art to keep going.
I want to win the Drawing Academy course to better myself and my art so I could become more comfortable with putting my art out there as well as making it a source of income.
I am a retired professional engineer and have comparatively recently taken up art again. From childhood I have been interested in art and have just found a watercolour I did at age 10, and think it shows some understanding of the effects of light on a subject.
At school I ‘did’ art but completely opted out after my English/Art teacher aggressively criticised something I was working on.
I began painting 10years ago. I fell in love with Art while I was in Rome. I visited the Vatican and Trevi Fountain. After which I flew to Paris and visited The Lourve. I have travelled a many places while I was in the Airline Industry.
I am a retired professional graphic designer and illustrator. Over the fifty years I worked in that profession I worked to create illustrations that sold a product or told a story. After retiring continued to paint images that allowed my viewer to write their own story as that looked at each of my paintings.
