This work is one of my best paintings…
As an artist, I tend to focus my artwork on the study of the interactions between man and nature, as well as experiment with satirical design relations. Furthermore, I have lived most of my life in the middle of nowhere in the desert of Agua Dulce, which is where my attraction to animal like references develops from, which is metaphorically or symbolically incorporated into specific works. However, eventually during my early teens, I ventured out of the region and commuted by train to Downtown LA for high school at LACHSA-Los Angeles County High School for the Arts- where I was exposed to the chaotic, unpredictable city streets of LA, which inspired me expand upon stylistic elements containing of a combination of beauty, satire, and horror. Some critics have described my work as “beautiful horror” because of the incorporated elements of darkness, color, and spiritual reference in the composition of some of my pieces. However, I don’t necessarily stick to specific styles, for I enjoy learning to grow as an artist so I can learn to become more worldly overall with various concepts of artistic elements and environments that I am exposed to. I use art as a creative outlet to escape the real world of the left brain to enter my subconscious realm of infinite imagination, which helps me escape my own worries of the real world as well.
The mediums I center on are those of graphite, acrylic, collage, photography, and film…

Hello to all who like me, are interested in art.
I decided to participate in this competition, because like most artists i became interested in art from an early age, as I grew older I realized I had very easily for drawing, and it was not until I turned 19 I realized that this was what I wanted to do, even if i had to live a modest life.
Unfortunately I live in Venezuela, and if you do a little searching on the internet you will realize that we are living very difficult time where even get basic things like food is quite difficult. By the excessive increase in prices I had to stop my studies. I was studying graphic design and now, i’m doing absolutely nothing, and I’m using my free time to improve my skills because I hope to continue my studies in a future. If I had the facility to pay the drawing course I would, but I really can not.
If you want to help me, please share my story on facebook, give me +1 or just leave a comment down. I will appreciate it…

My 8-year old daughter has begun to show a lot of interest in learning to draw (no doubt because of the program I am doing with you). Her mother just bought her a “painting by numbers” book, which leads me to want to intervene before any real damage is done. Is there a particular approach you would suggest for a child of her age? …
I am 24 years old. Since I was a child, I’ve dreamed of becoming a fine artist and used every resource at my disposal to become good at it. But recently I have started to question myself about why I’m doing this and I’m losing my motivation. I’ve had the opportunity to see the works of many amazing artists and I am absolutely humbled and intimidated by their work. What if I can never be as good as they are? There are so many great works out there, why should anyone pay attention to mine? And in this day and age, when the art world is ruled by big names and brands, is there any place left for newbies?
Having all these questions in my head is scaring me because art has always been a very big part of me and I don’t want to lose it.
I am in high school right now, and I am not used to drawing. My goal is to become an illustrator, and draw concept art or comics (mainly digital art) on Photoshop and Illustrator, What should I do? …
