Thanks for the opportunity to compete for your drawing course. I am electro mechanical technician, 69 years old, living in a farmhouse at two hours from Guatemala City, enjoying the ambient of the trees and the birds singing, but a little far from the places where I could be learning to improve my drawing ability. I take care of 6 dogs that I have adopted from the street, and make a little work taking care of the trees and insects that are disappearing in other areas. How? Not destroying their habitat, simple.

A lot of squirrels live here… looking at my wife and two of my five daughters. I used to practice painting in the Municipal school, 5 hours a week. Almost 4 years.

Art in my life is practically everything, after my family. It could be said, for me it is not a hobby it is almost a living style.

Recently I read about William Turner, he is an art super icon, it is not possible to define his inspiration, his feelings, his freedom mixing colors, shadows, lights, movements, rain, winds, darkness and nature. I only can tell you, that Turner is the Meister that teach me that “maybe it seems to be unfinished, but it is more than enough, that triggers the click to capture the emotion of admiration and enjoy his paintings”, covering a lot of influences synthesized, that are part of the Turner strokes. This is the art for me.

By myself I have improve my technic in drawing and painting, but I feel it is not enough, as much as I practice and study, my progress is mediocre. I think it is necessary to plan something serious, having professional tutors, really teachers and artists. My challenge is to have this support, professionalism and focus. After two years I must have my own style.

I want to learn the traditional oil technics, improve the drawing of human body and portraits, applying with character, the perspective and chiaroscuro. Considering mainly the beauty and aesthetic, with deep expression, not only the expression or the grotesque as the main subject.

Drawing Academy is clearly, by now, the only sure way I could take to reach what I dream to learn around my objective: draw and paint like a professional.

I want to win the Drawing Academy course because I have given my time with confidence on my limited resources and programs without focus, and my progress goes like a turtle.

It is not a matter of attitude or energy. I like and enjoy a lot drawing and painting, studying with different videos, inventing or experimenting, but I do not have a program and professional help to feedback what is going on. And here in my country is a dream having a course like yours.

To tell the true, I really don’t know why people would vote for me. But if somebody read my phrases and like what feelings do I have around the art, please vote for me, I would really appreciate it, and in my prays I will thank this action.
