Master Copies of Great Artists

Along with original work, I like to do copies of the work of artists that I admire. I don’t necessarily do this to make perfect copies but to learn a bit about how they do what they do so that I can apply their techniques to original compositions.

I especially like the work of the artists who painted the originals here: Thomas Eakins and John Singer Sargent. These great artists have styles that I would most like to emulate in my own work.
