It is said that drawing is the magic of assertively representing the contrast between light and darkness on a surface, well, I want to be able to do this and much more. I want to be able to represent the beautiful world that surrounds me with all its contrasts and feelings, without the technique stopping me. I want to draw joy, loneliness, sadness, love, life, death … I want to talk through drawing, and I would love to start now.

Hello, my name is Camilo Torres, I am 27 years old and I am from Bogotá, Colombia.

I have always liked to draw, since I was little I have tried to make portraits, paintings, try new techniques for myself, but I have never had the opportunity to access a formal artistic education. In a self-taught way I have reached the level that I have today, but I have always wanted to learn from great artists and receive feedback.

Here in Bogota it is difficult to access an academic drawing course, now with the devaluation of the Colombian currency it is more difficult to access courses taught in other countries.

I would like to improve my pencil drawings of the human figure, learn more about charcoal and graphite, I would love to improve my watercolors and start in the world of oils.

I got to know the Drawing Academy thanks to its videos on youtube, which have served and inspired me a lot, since I saw the first video I thought “Some day I have to study there” and I hope this is my chance.
