Learning the Beauty of Art
Story and artwork from Maisarah
I am currently going into my last year of secondary school. I have abandoned the option of taking art class about a year ago. Which means I won’t have a GCSE in art. This leads me to not currently have a sketchbook portfolio for the traditional route of going to art school. It was a hard choice as I find art beautiful, and I love making art. I would love to have a future making art, I adore the idea of spending hours drawing and painting. But I have my reasons why.
The truth is throughout my youth I felt stuck in doing art. I gazed upon the great master’s and wondered why I and many others couldn’t capture true beauty. I looked at the history and saw the rise of modern and abstract art. There has been a downfall of the philosophy, teaching and execution of art.
My school doesn’t teach the skills and social media didn’t neither. Art was made modern, none of the traditional methods used throughout the centuries which people love to look at, wasn’t learned. We admire the old master’s and want to be like them, but many don’t learn from them. When I stopped taking art, I tried teaching myself, I wasn’t having much luck. Then I found your YouTube channel.
The Drawing Academy is amazing. The team of professional art tutor’s spoke through age old ideas of the masters. You are all a breath of fresh air. You helped me feel comfortable with my choice. I want to improve; I want to learn the right things. I would love to learn how to do fine art and even paint murals. The Drawing Academy course will lead me to achieve this. I feel this my only choice left to learn art.
Thank you.
