My name is Janice and I am a mum of three children. All through my twenties I was busy with my kids and didn’t really do a lot for myself or following my own interests. Now they are that bit older and less depended, I started having the urge to follow my innate creative passion. On the wing I bought a lovely set of pencils just over a year ago.
I have always loved art shops and art materials!! I didn’t really know how to use them properly but looked on youtube and found so many fantastic teachers and really got inspired. I started of drawing animals and by practising every day my skills quickly improved. I realised I was good at ‘copying’ from a photo however when trying to sketch/draw from life, I struggled. I want to be able to draw humans as I find them very challenging.
This is why I think the Drawing Academy would be fantastic for me. I really want to learn how to draw from life and understand all of the fundamentals of good drawing and how to apply them successfully and effortlessly. I am inspired by the works of the great masters and wish I had gone to university to study art when I was younger. The Drawing Academy would offer me the right art education from home and in my own time. I know I have come to find art later in life but I feel a deep desire and passion inside me to learn and to improve my skills.
I would like people to vote for me please, to prove that one is never to old to lean a new skill as long as one is willing to put the work into it.
