“You teach a lot of specific techniques, “How to draw X”, but what if I want to draw Y, but you don’t have a video on it.

Since the videos cover a variety of topics, do they act as case studies to help develop and hone general skills that will allow me to draw Y?”

The whole philosophy of the Drawing Academy is based on teaching how to draw whatever you see, think or imagine.

Erroneous belief #3:
I need to learn how to draw a particular subject like people or animals, or cars, etc.

What you will learn in Drawing Academy video lessons is the following list of topics:

• Which art materials you need and how to use them
• Constructive drawing principles
• Rules of linear and aerial perspective
• Golden proportions
• Human body anatomy and proportions
• Rules of composition
• Traditional ways of rendering tonal values
• …and so on.

As you can see, these are the general skills and universal principles of drawing, which can be applied to whatever “X” or “Y” object you might draw.

We also advise not to copy specific drawings from academy videos, but rather watch lessons to understand drawing principles and rules to utilize in your own creative projects.
