How to learn Drawing from Video Lessons
Questions from Linzhen
Hi,
I watched your video presentation on ‘Drawing from Photos vs Drawing from Life‘. I am thinking of enrolling in the Drawing Academy course.
My question is, through your course, students are learning from video lessons – two-dimensional examples, not drawing from live models. How will you reconcile these two?
Thank you very much,
Linzhen
Dear Linzhen,
Many thanks for your question.
I’m glad that you understood the message I wanted to convey about drawing from photos and that you recognize the importance of drawing from life.
In regard to your comment that the Drawing Academy course is presented on a flat computer screen, I would like to emphasize that in the Course, you will learn how to draw. This includes learning step-by-step the stages of drawing, constructive principles of drawing, rules of drawing in perspective, principles of golden proportions, human anatomy, the classical approach to portrait- and figure-drawing, and more.
This course is not about copying from a computer screen what Academy tutors draw. It is about getting all the necessary information on how to draw proficiently and skillfully and applying this information to drawing from models, nature, and life.
Kind regards,
Vladimir London
