Good Things Come…
Story and aertwork from Pierce Horvath
Hi, I’m Pierce Horvath. I’m 23 and I am an illustrator, animator, and musician from Chicago, Illinois. Art is everything in my life because I come from a very creative background. My family for generations have been musicians, dating back to when my ancestors lived in Eastern Europe. I play violin, guitar, and sing. My father plays drums but is an electrical engineer/draftsman by occupation. From a very young age, he taught me to draw simple shapes at first and that ignited my passion to create. Deep down, I realized it’s about telling a story through mark making and the overall visuals.
My new challenges and learning goals are rendering drapery, landscapes, and complex perspectives. I believe that by learning these skills through The Drawing Academy, my compositions will reach a whole new level of finish. I’d also like to have the chance to plus my knowledge of the figure, particularly the feet and the muscular anatomy of the limbs.
I’ve been a fan of the Drawing Academy way back from the early 2000s when I was teaching myself the basic principles and figure drawing. Studying the works of the artists that were posted really helped me progress and learn to love the art of drawing.
With these courses, I plan to apply the skills taught to my work that I post online. In the hopes I gain enough of a following, I aim to give back to the art community and eventually teach in time. In that event, I will surely refer my followers and students to The Drawing Academy for further, more in-depth learning.
People should vote for my piece because it shows what dedication and passion for the craft can create. I believe it embodies a level of quality that we as artists strive to achieve and surpass. A vote for me is a vote to continue on the tradition of classical art training and the furthering of The Drawing Academy’s core teachings!
