Hello,
My name if Fidel Antonio, I am 31 years old and a graduate with a BFA in painting from the Herberger Institute at ASU.
I started drawing when I was very little. It began as a hobby and eventually it became my career.
I truly must say that I did not learn anything while attending ASU’s art program, and I’m left with a huge debt. I’m very good at drawing from a photograph but I cannot create something from scratch. Right now all I can produce is copies of photographs or other paintings as studies but no original work.
My favorite artists are Michelangelo and Da Vinci and i hope one day to make paintings like them. I have so many ideas but unfortunately, I wasn’t shown how to put them on paper. I’m so used to copying photographs that i don’t know how to break from it.
I’ve seen clips of what this program has to offer and I’m so excited because i feel it will provide the tools i need to continue as an original artist and further my career. I will work hard with this membership and the tools it provides to help me achieve my goals.
I really appreciate you offering this opportunity to people of limited means.

Fidel is a perfectionist when it comes to his artwork. He works on a painting until he feels that it meets the high standards of any great artist. I think one day he could be the Michelangelo or Da Vinci of this century if given the opportunity.

I was an art teacher for 19 yrs. and I do see the talent that Fidel has. I understand his frustration of not having someone helping him to move from copying from another piece of work and to encouraging him to move to the next level of creating his own work.I hope you will give this young man some serious consideration because I believe the right instruction and encouragement with set him in a place where he will become what he dreams of being.

I have known Fidel all my life because he is my older brother. I have seen all his work from the very beginning to todays. I have seen the transition from amateur to professional. I have seen the time and passion he has put into each and every one of his works. With some people, if not most, art is work- something that they do to get by or make profit of. With Fidel, art has become part of his life. He’s never really been interested in the selling of his pieces even after my constant pushing to take advantage of his tremendous talent. No. He does this because he loves it and what’s even more amazing is that he is truly good at what he does. He has come a long way and deserves to go even further. His work deserves to be seen by the world around. And I’m not just saying this because he’s my brother. It’s exactly that reason why I shouldn’t be saying anything at all, but the truth is, if I’d say otherwise I’d be lying. My brother has ta true and rare talent that deserves to be supported and I truly hope you consider him for your program. You won’t be disappointed. I wish you the best and may the force be with you.

This academy would be a wonderful opportunity for Fidel to use the tools given to him to create art at his best. He has the talent to do something he really loves and enjoys. After his schooling he will really create great pieces of art. I wish Fidel nothing but the best and hope he won’t let his talent lay hidden and will let it open up for the world to see.

As Fidel’s former classmate, I have been lucky to have seen his creativity and talent that he puts into his work. Fidel puts much thought and determination to each of his paintings and drawings, and seeks originality to further practice his skills and imagination.
