Mona Lisa
Leonardo da Vinci is my favorite figure in history not only because of his accomplishments in art, but also because of his unsurpassed amount of talents in almost every discipline, and his tenacious working ethics.
I first encountered art at the age of 3 and was drawn to it ever since. Throughout my childhood drawing had been a daily routine, almost equally as important as eating and drinking, and in a way it is, as it has become the sustenance for my mind and soul.
I’ve had some trainings in art, ranging from sketching to oil painting, but not in any way extensive or for any long period of time, since my family had been moving around a lot.
Art to me is the expression of consciousness in a meaningful and empathic way, expressed through shapes, sound, motion, words etc. Note that I said empathic because art has to be relatable for it to have lasting value, otherwise it would not be different from crying or laughing.
This is why I think Drawing Academy has such a great course, because it teaches the classical artistry, the form of art that holds the values developed in antiquity, practiced and refined through generations, and I wish to inherit them and pass them down.
The biggest challenge I have in art is the lack of professional understanding in the human anatomy, which I desperately want to learn. Unfortunately, there are not many art teachers around who teaches this.
I’m currently a uni student in the University of Melbourne, doing bachelor of art, and the pricing of the course is beyond my budget would allow. This is why I want to win the course, and your vote would most definitely help for a passionate artist to continue the timeless treasure in our contemporary world.
