Hello, I am Grace Garner, I’m 16 years old from Jefferson City, Missouri. My dad is a fine artist. When I was young I would watch him paint. He would let me draw on the backs of canvases, and this is when I first started drawing. I consider art my passion, just looking forward to drawing, looking at art, or anything art related inspires me! Art has helped me so much in life and is practically my own personal therapist. I am inspired by my mom, who sponsors why passion, my sister who enjoys art, my dad who is my personal art critiquer, and Walt Disney, who is my idol.
The challenge I face most in art is drawing from my imagination, especially drawing the human figure (both male and female). If I won this competition, I would learn how to draw the human figure from imagination and draw my own characters. While trying to find ways to enhance my artistic skills I stumbled on Drawing Academy, within watching two videos I learned so much. I could only imagine what I would learn if I won this competition!
I want people to know that I am competing for an opportunity to win this Drawing Academy course because I want to strengthen my fine art skills. When applying for college, I can mark this as one of my accomplishments, as well as include my submission in my portfolio. I hope that you vote for me so I can improve my skills, and eventually become a professional fine artist with the help of Drawing Academy!
