For the past month, I have been in something of an artistic rut. I cannot call it a creative block, because I get ideas all the time. I just don’t have the technical ability to execute them.
So my question is, how exactly should I study drawing? Maybe focus on one for say a month, then move on to the next area? Or should I study two subjects that are closely related, like architectural drawing and perspective?…
My grandfather used to say that a “Horse Handshake” was the art of keeping a horse between you and your opponent.
People who work with horses know how disoriented you can feel when you look a horse directly in the eye. These graceful creatures are not only beautiful and strong, they are also intuitive. They know when a rider is confident, happy, or nervous. They also know when you have carrots!

Before I enrolled, I was at an intermediate level. I took the course to expand on linear perspective and figure drawing. After completing the course, I have a better understanding of linear perspective and have practiced many of the exercises. My drawing has improved as a result and so has my painting.
